Comments:

I've been wanting a road bike for years after growing up with a Schwinn Varsity 10 speed in 1973, I bought a Defy 1 on my 50th birthday. I wanted a comfortable yet fast bike to compete in Sprint Triathlons and enjoy while exercising. Defy 1 with 105 components was the by far the best bike I test rode (and I rode nearly every brand). Even with a sit bone issue that I haven't been able to get rid of for years, I was able to ride 20 miles on my first outing. I ride at an average of 16 mph and love it. I'm hooked on cycling now and love my Defy 1. Now if I could just find a seat designed for ease the pain of sit bone nerve issues, I could ride for hours!

Great Bike For Beginner Who is Serious

    About Me Casual/ Recreational

    Pros

    • Lightweight

    • Fast

    Cons

    • Too Rigid
    • Color

    Best Uses

    • Commuting
    • Exercising
    • Casual Riding

    Comments:

I have used this bike to bike to friends houses and work. Perfect for a 2 mile ride or a 40 mile ride. It is very versatile and makes you a more confident rider. Only thing bad a could say is how it handles bumps and the color. Yes its a road bike so you are gonna feel bums but the color makes the bike get dirty fast. Otherwise a quick smooth bike that has helped my interests in biking go to the next level.
